No time to lose
Warm-up board, iron cross, flag, swallow, suns and
moons… if these accomplished gymnastic figures don’t
speak to you, you can always ask Wassim to show them
to you. That is, if he’s got time.
“Three years after entering the work life, I had to set aside
these sports activities to make room for my work”, admits
the young supply chain consultant, who recently started
with FiveForty°.
Very sport
But it’s not a matter to drop everything, declares he who is looking for an apartment
in Paris close to a gym.
And if, as he points out, for him “sport is a style and hygiene of life”, he has not
forgotten to muscle up his brain either. After graduating from High School, Wassim
joins an engineering school preparatory class in Nabeul, Tunisia. And after a year of
“full time” letting off of steam, he gets himself together and takes hold of his future
as firmly as he grabs the rings. He takes again and aces his tests and chooses the
Ecole Nationale des Sciences et Technologies Avancées [National School for
Advanced Technologies]. “In partnership with the University of Tsukuba, the school
was developing a new generalist engineer concept.” Wassim then discovers the
supply chain, stock management and production, and perfects his IT knowledge.
Very dynamics
A 2017 advanced technologies engineering graduate with an industrial systems and
competitiveness option, he seeks to optimize his path forward and friends tell him
about consulting. The idea seduces him. For his end-of-studies internship, he joins
Discovery, a very well respected IT consulting firm in Tunisia. Wassim then gets to
become familiar with the Microsoft 365 FO and AX solution. “I appreciated very
much this kind of activity. Each time, you are working with different customers,
projects and industries. There is no routine at all.” This is it, Wassim wants to
continue in this area. He proves himself. He is hired after the internship and gets his
first job. Fifteen months later, the Microsoft activities director leaves the structure to
launch his own IT consulting firm, Indigo Business Solutions. In his luggage, he take
Wassim and a certain Firas. Three years go by during which he progresses with
mentors in terms of business expertise, mastery of the solution and customer
relational soft skills.
Very in a hurry
“In this profession, one is committed towards a concrete goal, it’s motivating and
absorbing. I’ve chosen to give it my all to boost my career. To not lose any time,
I put my energy to good use and gave myself the goal and the means to obtain in
three years the knowledge that usually takes five” explains Wassim.
Today, a supply chain consultant with FiveForty°, Wassim is in support mode or in
project mode for GC Aesthetics, Eden and Kaporal. “The advantage of this business
is to also have the certainty that one is evolving. With their updates, solutions are
always progressing. This Microsoft dynamic benefits the customer as well the one
implementing it”, he rejoices.
Very much a listener
As he sees it, the qualities of a good consultant are the mastery of the solution as
much as the business expertise and the soft skills. Knowing how to listen, knowing
how and when to share are key points. “Sharing at FiveForty° is embodied in the
availability of everyone. If you need help, there will always be someone to have your
back. Right at first, Firas told me about the quality of the contacts he did have with
FiveForty°. He knows I appreciate this facet. But it was only a feeling feedback. A bit
later, reality did confirm it. This relational aspect and taking wellness into account
encouraged me to joint them. For me, this is indispensable for working well.”
Very strong tempos
In his youth, Wassim also studied violin during five years. Very seriously, given that
at the age of 7, he took part in the Musical Encounters of the Mediterranean, an
international festival held in Bastia (Corsica), broadcast on Tunisian TV. Today,
he appreciates just as much instrumental music but doesn’t quite grasp a
phenomenon: time goes by very fast! Too fast. “At work as well as during the
weekend” he regrets. So, as if to conjure this inexorable flight, he always gives
himself objectives and goals to reach: “Nowadays, I am concentrating on the profile
of solutions architect. I am seeking to develop my competences to become one.
In addition to my business knowhow, I’d gladly add the consultant arrow to my
bow.” Last confidence, he tells us he joined FiveForty° on a February 14: “but with my
wife, we still took the time to celebrate St-Valentine!.” °
